SERVICE FOR MIGRANTS in Hualien (Taiwan)

The Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) in Taipei City is the Philippine mission office in Taiwan. It dutifully renders ministerial services to the Filipino citizens in Taiwan most of whom are migrant workers here in Taiwan. However, MECO goes beyond rendering ministerial services to its citizens, it takes extra miles in ensuring and looking after the welfare of the Filipinos in Taiwan. Last June 26, MECO through its resident representative, Honorable Antonio I. Basilio, donated a brand new computer unit to Catholic Migrant Chaplaincy of Hualien for its mission to the Filipino migrant workers.

Virgin of Fatima, Mother of Mercy, Queen of Heaven and Earth, Refuge of Sinners, we who belong to the Marian Movement concecrate ourselves in a very special way to Your Immaculate Heart. By this act of consecration we intend to live, with You and through You, all the obligations assumed by our baptismal consecration. We further pledge to bring about in ourselves that interior coversion so urgently demanded by the Gospel, a conversion that will free us of every attachment to ourselves and to easy compromises with the world so that, like You, we may be available only to do always the will of the Father. And as we resolve to entrust to You, O Mother most sweet and merciful, our life and vocation as Christians, that you may dispose of it according to Your design of salvation in this hour of decision that weighs upon the world, we pledge to live it according to your desires, especially as it pertains to a renewed spirit of prayer and penance, the fervent participation in the celebration of the Eucharist and in the works of the apostolate, the daily recitaion of the Holy Rosary and an austere manner of life in keeping with the Gospel, that shall be to all a good example of the observance of the law of God and the practice of the Christians virtues, especially that of purity. We further promise You to be united with the Holy Father, with the Hierarchy and with our Priests, in order thus to set up a barrier to the growing confrontation directed against the Magisterium, that threatens the very foundation of the Church. Under Your protection, we want moreover to be apostles of this sorely needed unity of prayer and love for the Pope, on whom we invoke Your special protection. And lastly, in so far as is possible, we promise to lead those souls with whom we come in contact to a renewed devotion to you. Mindful that atheism has caused shipwreck in the faith to a great number of the faithful, that desecration has entered into the Holy Temple of God, and that evil and sin are spreding more and more throughout the world, we make so bold as to lift our eyes trustingly to You. O Mother of Jesus and our merciful and powerful Mother, and we invoke again today and await from You the salvation of all Your children. O clement, o loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

Most sweet Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us humbly prostrate before You. We are Yours, and Yours we wish to be; but to be more surely united with You, behold each one of us freely consecrates himself today to Your Most Sacred Heart. Many indeed have never known You; many, too, despising Your precepts, have rejected . Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them to your Sacred Heart. Be King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken You, but also of the prodigal children who have abandoned You; grant that they may quickly return to their Father's house, lest they die of wretchedness and hunger. Be King of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions, or whom discord keeps allof, and call them back to the harbor of truth and the unity of faith, so that soon there may be but one flock and one Sheperd. Grant, O Lord, to Your Church assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give tranquility of order to all nations; make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry: Praise to the Divine Heart that wrought our salvation; to it be glory and honor forever. AMEN

PRAYER TO JESUS CHRIST OF IMMIGRANTS

O Jesus, who in the very first days of Thine earthly life was compelled, together with Mary, Thy loving Mother, and Saint Joseph, to leave Thy native land and to endure in Egypt the misery and discomforts of poor emigrants, turn Thine eyes upon us, who, far away from our dear country and from all that is dear to us, are frequently struggling to face the difficulties of a new life, and who are likewise often exposed to grave dangers and snares for our immortal souls. Be Thou our guide in our uncertain journey, our help in trouble, our comfort in sorrow; keep us safe in our faith, holy in our lives, and faithful to our children, our wives, and our parents; grant, O Lord, that we may be embraced affectionately once more in our native land, and hereafter to live inseparably united to our loved ones at the foot of Thy throne in our heavenly country. AMEN.

PRAYER TO ST. JOSEPH, Patron Of Workers

Blessed St. Joseph, Patron of all working people, obtain for me the grace to labor in a spirit of penance for the atonement of my sins. Help me to be conscientious in my work so that I may give as full a measure as I have received. May I labor in spirit of thankfulness and joy, ever mindful of all the gifts I have received from God that enable me to perform these tasks. Permit me to work in peace, patience, and moderation, keeping in mind the account I must one day give of time lost, talents unused, good omitted, and vanity of success, so fatal to the work of God. Glorious St. Joseph, may my labors be for Jesus, all through Mary. AMEN.
